Official Records and Custody Contacts

The sheriff and jail are the first contacts for an adult Sebastian County booking. The Sheriff's Office handles county records functions, while Jail Administration receives written inmate-inquiry accuracy concerns and requests tied to a detention record or booking photograph. No fixed sheriff booking-photo price or guaranteed response time was published. Ask the custodian for an itemized estimate and a current availability date.

Use the official channel that matches the person's custody state and the record being sought:

  • For a current or released county booking, start with the Sebastian County Inmate Inquiry gateway. It leads to the roster, which can show booking details and a photograph when available.
  • For a booking sheet, detention-log entry, photo, or written correction, contact Jail Administration. Give the full name, approximate booking date, and booking number if known. The county search overview explains the record fields and request steps.
  • For a person sentenced or committed to state correctional custody, use the Arkansas Department of Corrections offender search. It is not the lookup for an ordinary local pretrial booking.
  • For a federal Bureau of Prisons record, use the BOP inmate locator. Its public results provide custody and release fields but do not publish inmate photographs.
  • For immigration detention, use the ICE Online Detainee Locator System. It accepts an A-number and country of birth or exact identity details, and it is not a county mugshot source.
  • For a release or transfer alert, use Arkansas VINE. VINE is notification-oriented and should not be the only basis for an urgent safety decision.
  • For filed charges or the final result of a Sebastian County case, contact the Circuit Clerk or use the official state court search. A jail charge is an accusation recorded at intake, not a conviction.

Arkansas citizens may request nonexempt public records under Arkansas FOIA. If a record is readily available, the law contemplates immediate access. The three-working-day provision applies when the custodian certifies that a record is in active use or storage, so it is not a promise that every request will finish within three days. An out-of-state requester should ask the custodian what access it can provide.
